Freja Beha Erichsen for POP (F/W 11.12)
So here it is my first official blog post – I thought long and hard, who and what it would be about. I knew it would be Freja, because she won the 10 sided coin toss I had. There’s no denying Freja slays, she is just perfect. The word icon is lavishly used these days when referring to the supermodel, well of course I say it all the time. There’s “Queen Elizabeth” and there’s “Fashion Supermodel Icon Freja.” POP editorial director Ashley Heath had this to say about Freja and Marina Abramović (who is also on the cover) connection, “You hesitate to use the word ‘icon’ these days, but they’re both resonant female role models at a time when lowest common denominator so often rules the day.” Well I said the same thing just in mediocre words. Freja and Marina’s cover together is absolutely perfect and my favorite of the four. Poise!
